Morris Leroy Kimbrough's Obituary
Morry grew up in the Tacoma area, graduated from Clover Park High School and later attended Pacific Lutheran University. Morry worked for Pacific N.W. Bell in his earlier years, then worked for Bargreen-Ellingson, and finally went to work as a longshoreman, a job he enjoyed the most. One of his many endeavors was to help a crew of Russian sailors who were stranded on their ship, while waiting many months for their ship to be loaded and return to Russia.Morry was talented in many ways, working with wood products, stained glass, painting, and so many other mediums. One of his last projects was rebuilding a 1966 Sunbeam Tiger, which he was not able to complete before his death. He was an avid collector, and had many small model cars and trucks. He loved traveling and was able to see many countries around the world, but the place he enjoyed the most was Kauai, Hawaii. He was a kind and generous man who considered everyone to be his equal. He especially appreciated all of the care and consideration shown to him by the management and fellow workers/longshoremen at Washington United Terminals during his illness.Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Barbara, son and best friend Eric; also brother Robert and wife Linda, nephews Kevin, David, and Shawn, and nieces Karen, Denise, and Debra. He was preceded in death by his father Cecil, mother Maurine, and sister Carole. We wish to acknowledge and thank Dr. Chris Chen and Dr. Andrew Loomis for their care and compassion during his illness. We also thank the caregivers from Gentiva, Joe and Victor, for their kindness.Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, May 18, in Mountain View Funeral HomeÂ's Valley Chapel. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to your favorite charity.
