Monika Terry-McCoy's Obituary
Monika Terry was born on June 6, 1962 in Nuremburg, Germany to Mr. Tommy L. Terry and Mrs. Tommie M. Terry.At the age of two Monika moved with her family to Ft. Benning, Georgia, following which the family returned to Ansbach, Germany for 3 1/2 years. In 1971 the family relocated to Ft. Lewis, Washington where Monika remained until her death.Monika attended grammar school at Fort Lewis and graduated from Bethel HighSchool, Spanaway, WA in 1980. She attended TCC and received a degree in EarlyChildhood Development.Monika professed her faith at a very early age and remained active in churchthroughout her life serving in many capacities to include: Youth, Choir, YouthCounseling, Usher Board, Bible School Teacher, Church Clerk, and Mistress ofCeremonies, among other things.On June 17, 1994 she was married to Johnny McCoy and became mother to Brandon and Jalisa. MonikaÂ's family was the focus of her life.During the last ten years of MonikaÂ's professional life she was employed by Westmark where she was an integral part of the Purchasing Department.Monika leaves to cherish her memory her husband Johnny McCoy, stepson Brandon Fitzpatrick, stepdaughter Jalisa Fitzpatrick, parents Tommy L. Terry and Tommie M. Terry, one sister Yvonne Terry-Jones, one brother Brian Terry, brother-in-law William M. Jones Sr., sister-in-law Cheryl Terry, mother-in-law Annie Casson, sisters-in-law Linda McCoy, Johnette Harris and Sheila Casson, five uncles, four aunts, 100 plus cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.Monika was preceded in death by her two children, LaKeisha Smith and Johnny McCoy Jr., one brother Antonio M. Terry, maternal and paternal grandparents, three uncles, and three aunts.Monika answered GodÂ's call on August 16, 2006 at 6:50 P.M in Tacoma, WA. Monika will be forever present in the hearts of her family and all who loved her.Visitation will be from 3 Â- 9 PM on Thursday, August 24, 2006 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, August 25, 2006 at Four Chaplains Memorial Chapel on Fort Lewis, with graveside services to follow.
