Mona B. Walker was born on April 26, 1920 in Quannah, Texas to Joe & Ethel Nixon.
There were seven children, Mona being the fourth child.
Her oldest sister Pauline Cotton, her only brother J.D. Nixon and her sisters, Maxine Ferres and Doris Nixon preceded her into Heaven.
Still living are her two sisters…
Melba Dutton, who is 96 and lives in Littlefield, Texas, and Wanda Smith, who is 91 and lives in Chickamauga, Georgia.
She married Burlis Clem Walker on December 25, 1937. Burlis passed away 5-28-68 at the age of 53. Mona never remarried, so they’ve been apart 46 years. They are together once again in Heaven, along with their oldest son, Arvis Burl Walker, who passed away on April 19, 1991.
