Mona Dolores McMahon's Obituary
Mona passed away Feb. 2, 2016 with several of her children by her side. She was born Feb. 18, 1929 to Mary Elizabeth Cowden and Bernard Natucci in Tacoma, Wa. She graduated from Clover Park High School and married her high school sweetheart, Phillip Roger McMahon on June 20, 1947.
Mona followed Phil while he was in the Air Force and finding a vocation afterward. They settled in Steilacoom, Wa. for many years and then moved to Alder, Wa. In the late 1980's they built and moved into their last home outside of Eatonville, Wa. She is survived by all of her 7 children: Mike (Annette), Merri Natucci (Edward), Chris (Jeanne), Phil (Lyanna), Carolyn Korst (Steven), Sharon Rosenkranz (Mark), Margie Oglesby (Mark) and her brother Bernard Natucci Jr. She has 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mona liked her privacy, but enjoyed the company and visiting with the staff and patrons at the Puyallup Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she spent much of her last 2 years. It was always comforting to hear what a kind, sweet lady she was. We appreciate the staff that was so loving and caring that went above and beyond to make her and us comfortable in Mona's last days.
Both of our parents enjoyed music and encouraged all of us to play instruments. Christmas was always memorable for pulling out our instruments and trying to play songs together.
Mona always enjoyed reading, planting flowers and searching the beaches for unique pieces of driftwood. In our younger years many days were spent scouring for treasures. She inspired those hobbies and creativity in all of us.
At Mona's request no public services will be held. She is laid to rest next to her husband at Mt. View Funeral Home in Lakewood, Wa.
