Miyuki (Micky) Joseph's Obituary
Miyuki Joseph was born March 14, 1933 in Sendai, Japan. Her father was a commercial fisherman until world war 2 broke out. Miyuki and her family hid in caves during the allied bombings. She was a trained seamstress and throughout the years made clothes for her children.
Miyuki passed away peacefully at home on January 10, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James a career soldier, who died December 28, 2015. She is survived by her sisters Tomoko and Masako who reside in Japan. Miyuki raised four children; Andrew Joseph, Shirley Wheeler, James Joseph Jr. and Linda Paris who all reside in Washington. Grandmother to 7 grandchildren and great grandmother to 10 great grandchildren Miyuki enjoyed large family get togethers and cooked some very memorable meals, especially on Christmas Eve.
Miyuki’s marriage to a career military man afforded her the opportunity to travel to several states as well as foreign countries. After settling in Washington, she went to work at Pederson’s Fryer Farms where she retired after 25 years.
Miyuki loved her Japanese TV shows, especially sumo wrestling, as well as singing karaoke. You never went to her house and left hungry since she insisted on feeding anyone who entered her home. She enjoyed the “occasional” trip to the casino.
Miyuki was very much loved and will be sorely missed by all of her family and friends.
