Minnie Alma Gilliam's Obituary
In fond memory of Minnie Alma Gilliam, born December 31, 1925, deceased March 22, 2017. Minnie died at 91 years of age.
Minnie was born to Alexander and Sarah Alma Jones in Cleveland, Ohio. Siblings: Ralph, Albert, Marion, James, Sally, Rosetta, Joyce, and Thomas. Two surviving siblings, Joyce and Thomas.
In 1957, Minnie dedicated herself and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She died ever faithful to Jehovah. Her life course centered around her love for Jehovah, only missing 1 convention in her 60 years of dedicated service. She raised her children to love Jehovah and set the example by putting him first in favorable seasons and troublesome seasons. Her grand and great–grand children were very dear to her as well. She set an excellent example for them by her words and deeds.
The day before her death she was determined to share in the campaign work, inviting her neighbors to the memorial of Christ death. She was able to work 3 or 4 doors in the ministry sharing the Memorial invitation and preparing for an upcoming one day assembly. That was her determination to serve Jehovah to the end.
On May 30, 1947, Minnie married Ernest Irving Gilliam that marriage lasted 58 years. Ernest died December 28, 2005. That marriage produced four children: Sharon Joyce married Jasper Foster, Robin Lynette married James Jackson, Jodie Elaine married Frederick Bolar, deceased, and Ernest Irving Jr. married Kawana.
From their children they produced 15 grandchildren: Sharron, Jasper Jr., Debin, Jonathan, J’Nai, Rachel, Gianna, Fred Jr., Michael, Ashley, Christopher, Jordan, and through marriage Christopher, Tyler, and MaKala.
Their grandchildren produced 12 great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Kayla, Amber, Brett, Jonathan Jr., Kalil, Sa’Mya, Micah, Tatiana, Andre, Sophia, and Bentley.
Their great-grandchild produced 1 Great-Great Grandchild: Karson.
