Milton Elisha Smith Jr.'s Obituary
Milton Elisha Smith Jr., born May 13, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on November 28, 2025, in Tacoma, Washington. Milton proudly served his country in the U.S. Armed Forces for 20 years, from 1959 to 1979, including service with the renowned 82nd Airborne Division—something he carried great pride in throughout his life.
After two decades of serving his country, he retired and began his work as a civilian. He continued his hard work and dedicated another twenty years to McLane Northwest, between the years 1980 and 2000, where he created many lifelong connections.
Milton had a deep love for music, especially jazz, which filled his days with rhythm and joy. He was an avid sports fan who never missed a chance to cheer on the Seattle Seahawks, and he enjoyed both playing and watching baseball. He also appreciated a good western movie and had a lifelong fascination with history, often sharing facts and stories that reflected his passion.
Milton leaves behind his loving wife, Cynthia; his two children; four stepchildren; and many grandchildren and great‑grandchildren who will carry his memory forward.
Known for being quite the character, Milton brought humor, warmth, and personality wherever he went. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
His family will be holding a Celebration of Life at a later date.
