Mildred Powell's Obituary
Mildred Powell, 77, of Tacoma, affectionately referred to as Lynette, passed of a stroke on September 10, 2021. She was involved in church, healthcare, and her community endeavors throughout her life. Lynette was a caring and passionate sibling, friend, wife, and parent. She was born on August 17, 1944, to Mabel Brown-Hughes and Levy Hughes in Canton, Mississippi. She was the fourth of 9 children, seven boys and two girls.
Lynette's father, and brothers, Levy Hughes Jr, Paul Hughes, and Shedrick Hughes, will be giving her a tour of heaven. She leaves several to mourn her passing, including mother Mabel Hughes; children; Terrell Powell, Tara Powell, and Trier Powell, siblings Maxine Graves, Joe Earl Hughes, Howard Hughes, Patrick Hughes, Sr., and Kenneth Hughes, along with aunts, nephews, and nieces. Lynette's husband and lifetime companion, Twin Powell also survived her. She is much loved and greatly missed.
