Mildred Moede's Obituary
Mildred Moede
Millie was born December 6, 1925 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to James E. Perry and Julia M. Otwell. She was just 17 when she met her husband J.R. at a USO dance. They were married June 13, 1942. A dutiful Air Force wife, she moved her growing family across the country many times and taught her children how to pack a box. A longtime Tacoma resident, she worked in a variety of fields such as retail, photography and food service. She eventually moved to Rathdrum, Idaho, where she passed away March 24, 2014.
Millie was an excellent cook and made the best fried chicken in the world. She loved books and reading, flowers and gardening, her little brown house, and her teapot collection. But most of all she loved her family and friends. She is survived by her son Perry (Audry), daughters Julie (Alan) and Barbara (Edwin), and a whole passel of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, and son Justin Jr.
Graveside service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park, Lakewood, WA, Sunday June 1 at 3:30 PM.
