Mildred Mae Hinz's Obituary
Mildred (Betty) Hinz Betty was born on June 6, 1934 in Miles City, Mont. and passed away on Oct. 11, 2008, surrounded by her family. As a young child she moved to Tacoma and it was there she met her husband Stu and they raised their family. After her children were grown she went back to school. She got her GEDEand continued her education at UPSEearning a degree in Criminal Justice. She worked for Progress House and Purdy Women's Prison until her retirement in 1985. Upon their retirement, mom and dad spent their time traveling the country in their RV. She loved NASCAR races, the Arizona sun and her kitties. Her favorite times were being with her family on the holidays. Betty is survived by her husband of 47 years, Stuart Hinz, sister PattyE(Gary) Dennett and 4 daughters, Susan (Rick) McAbee, Joyce (MIke) Erickson, Barbara Franich, and Teresa (Keith) Stringham. Having also brought much joy to her life are her 9 grandchildren Michelle, Jennifer, Julieut, Amy, Scott, Marea, Antone, Austin, and Tanner. Her happiness also included 6 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Cassidy, Caitlyn, Johannah, Jillian and Tyson. She was also survived by her special niece Linda (Ross) Bell and her daughters Stephanie and Tawni. The funeral service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park- Garden Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA. on Friday Oct. 17, at 12:00. Viewing will be Thursday, Oct. 16th. In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to Franciscan Hospice P.O. Box 1502 Tacoma, WA 98401, as they provided wonderful care for mom and support for our family.
