Mildred Koch's Obituary
Mildred (Millie) Florence Koch was born on January 1, 1924 to Edward and Georgina Burlem in Honolulu, HI. She attend and graduated from Mary Knoll School. She married William Frederick Koch II, and began her life as a military wife. Fred and Millie had four children; William Frederick III, Georgina (Jeanne), Virginia (Gina), and Lillian. As a military family, they lived in Riverside, CA, Moses Lake, WA, and retired in France. After retiring from the Air Force, the family moved to Lakewood, WA and Millie stayed in this area the rest of her life. Millie attended beauty school and became a cosmetologist and opened her own beauty shop. Later, she opened a sub agency for the Department of Licensing where she worked with her daughter, Jeanne and her granddaughter, Stephanie. After retiring, Millie was active with the Society of Military Widows and her singles group. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crochet, bingo and bunco nights, trips to the casino and traveling with her friends. She loved her family and treasured watching her great grandchildren growing up. She was called home to heaven Friday, August 21st at 7am.
Millie is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Burns and her grandchildren: Stephanie Guzman (Randy Guzman), Ron Humphrey, William "Bill" Koch, Missy Champagne; her great grandchildren: Makayla Guzman, Brenna Guzman, Emma Guzman, Ryan Guzman, Genna Champagne, Gavin Champagne, Zachary Humphrey; her niece: Debbie Cupples (Jack Cupples).
