Mildred Adele Eschbach's Obituary
Mildred Adele Eschbach, 82, died July 26, 2003 at Orchard Park Care Center in Tacoma. She was born June 28, 1921 to Evar and Elanor Pianus in New York City and moved at an early age to Portland, Oregon, where she graduated from Grant High School in 1939. She attended art school in Portland and worked at SawyerÂ's Department Store before marrying the late Thomas Dobson Cabe at Saint MichaelÂ's and All Angels Episcopal Church in Portland on June 7, 1947. They were divorced in 1972.Mildred worked for the Norm Stoll School of Dance from 1966 to 1969 and later as a billing clerk for Meier and Frank Department Store in Portland. Her second marriage to Kenneth Eschbach of Portland ended in divorce in 1993.Â"MillieÂ" moved to Tacoma in 1993 to be near her sons. She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas L. and Carol Cabe, and Randy D. Cabe, all of Tacoma. She loved hiking in the mountains and coast lands of Oregon and Washington, ballroom dancing, and was an artist of considerable skill.A memorial service will be held Monday, August 4, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at the Mt. View Garden Chapel.
