Michael Gordon Zumhoff
Michael Gordon Zumhoff passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on May 18th, 2012. Mike was born in Tacoma, Washington on October 4th, 1954 to Norman and Patricia Zumhoff (Gordon). He grew up in Tacoma and attended Curtis High School. A gifted musician, Mike was a drummer in several rock-&-roll bands; mostly know for the popular band Chinook. He also worked for 20 years in the local truck delivery business. Mike's greatest joy was as the caregiver for his parents the last 10 years, including flower gardening with his mother and growing tomatoes with his father. Known for his quick wit, philosophy, and smile, Mike was friends with everyone. He enjoyed classic cars, snow and water skiing. Preceded in death by his mother Patricia, aunts Geraldine Lamanno and Jane Zumhoff, and uncle Ray Brian, Mike is survived by his father Norman, sisters Sharon Skaggs and Wendy Yabsley (Dennis), uncles Robert Zumhoff, Robert Gordon, and Joseph Lamanno, aunt Marilyn Brian, numerous cousins, and extended family. A celebration of life will be held in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Building at 3:00 P.M. on May 25, 2012. Donations may be made to Pierce County Animal Welfare, 8504 Chambers Creek Road W., University Place, WA 98467-4005.
