Michael May's Obituary
Michael May, age 80, of San Diego, passed away on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, after a short illness.
Born on March 4, 1944, in Bistritz, Romania, Mike came to America as a young child and settled in Tacoma, Washington, with his family. He graduated in 1962 from Lincoln Senior High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and a Master’s Degree in Marketing. He also served in the United States Army.
He moved to San Diego in the late 70's and happily lived there for the rest of his life. A longtime Rotarian, Mike enjoyed the connections and lifelong friendships he made during his National City Rotary Club membership. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, usually over a lovely meal. Over his lifetime, he worked in the insurance industry, eventually owning part of his own business. He also worked for a time as an adjunct instructor at San Diego State University.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, George and Maria May, and his three siblings, Sofia, John, and George.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Beatty of San Diego, daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Rick Osborn of Covington, Washington; two grandchildren, Walker and Brynn Osborn of Covington, Washington; nieces Katie Grindley of Tacoma, Washington, Sofia Santos of Eatonville, Washington, Rosie Schultz of Yaak, Montana, Maria Lynne of Roy, Washington, and nephew Mike Stierl of Wisconsin. He also leaves behind many family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
There will be no funeral services.
