Michael Damon Lewis Jr.'s Obituary
Michael “Mikie” Damon Lewis Jr. was born January 28th, 2003 in Edmonds, Washington. At the young age of 19, on November 5th, 2022, Michael gained his wings at his family home in Tacoma, Washington. He leaves to carry on his everlasting memory his mother, Ashley M. Scott-Lewis; his father, Michael S. Lewis; his sister, Myanna; his half-sister Mariah; his half-brother, Braydon; his stepfather, Brandon; his brother in laws, Elx and Jovone; his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who all loved him and who will miss him dearly.
Michael was known for his beautiful contagious smile, his goofy personality, and his love for his family, friends, and maryjane. He enjoyed working with his hands to build and create things, drawing and tracing pictures, and playing video games. On a typical day with Michael, you’d see him either on FaceTime with someone, watching movies, listening to music, working on cars, or sometimes doing all the above at the same time.
Michael lived in Western Washington with his mother for most of his life. His family moved to Sherman, Texas in 2019. But then returned to their home state the same year. Michael attended Franklin Pierce High School where he played as a linebacker on their football team. During his 11th grade year, he decided to transfer to Clover Park Technical College and pursue a degree in Automotive Mechanics. After turning 18, Michael began working as an HVAC installer for Kliemann Brothers in Tacoma, Washington.
On August 19, 2021, Michael suffered a gunshot wound to his head. Even though the doctors said that Mikie wouldn’t make it through the night, God had a plan for Michael to continue with us here on earth. Despite being paralyzed on the left side, Michael was determined to walk out of that hospital, and he did! His strength, endurance, and courage were nothing short of extraordinary.
We are eternally grateful that we were given another 15 months to love him a little longer and hold him a little tighter. Even though Michael’s physical life here with us was way too short, the impression he left with all of us will last forever.
You will always be in our hearts and memories, we love you Mikie. Forever 19.
Michael’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3rd , 2022 at 1pm at the Mountain View Funeral Home. Please join us in saying our final goodbyes, Michael would have been there for you.
