Michael was a person I saw at Mass in Fife and who did the readings on occasion. We exchanged pleasantries, but did not know each other personally. However, I always felt he was an honorable man and wasn't surprised to find out he had served in the army. I was so sad to hear of his death. As a family, you should be proud to have known him. He was a pleasure to be around, even if I only knew him from his smile and his ability to overcome adversity. Thank God for people like Michael.
