Michael J. Filby's Obituary
At age 59, Michael J. Filby went home to be with family on Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Born in 1951, Michael lives his entire life in the Lakewood area, graduating from Lakes High School in 1969. Michael had a long and successful career as an auto mechanic for Mallon, Fitzgerald, and Arnie Dahl Ford for a good 30 years. After retiring, Michael went to work for Pierce Transit, where he enjoyed working the night shift fueling the buses for the last 5 years. Michael's passion in life was his beloved dogs, Buddy, Zelda, and PJ. Michael was also an avid vintage car enthusiast, as well as enjoying garage & estate sales every Saturday. Michael is survived by his cousin, Darrell & Jacque Filby of Lakewood. Services will be held Saturday September 25th, 11am in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View. Viewing will be held Friday, September 24th from 1pm till 9pm. Donations can be made to the Pierce County Humane Society in his name.
