Michael John Huffman's Obituary
Michael John Huffman 74, of Tacoma, Washington passed away peacefully on April 17, 2020. Mike, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was strong in his faith and walked with the Lord and wanted to share God’s love with others. He was born on November 15th 1945 in Pontiac, Michigan to Leo and Lela Huffman. Mike served proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and received many medals including the National defense Medal, Good conduct medal and Armed Forces Expeditionary medal.
Mike loved to work with electronics and had many successful businesses throughout his life. He was incredibly talented when it came to wood working, electrical or anything that needed his special “Mike” touch. He was a wise and intelligent man and many people drew from his wisdom. It wasn’t uncommon for him to sit and chat for hours about God, life, his recipes, his momma’s cooking, his dogs, his beautiful wife and his grandchildren. Mike had enjoyed R.V. life with Maurine and Idaho held a special place in his heart.
Mike is survived by his wife, Best friend, cooking, traveling buddy and puzzle partner Maurine of 43 years. Brother and sister in Law Charlie and Judy Huffman and Sister in Law Joan Huffman. His son Evan and his wife Meranda Huffman, and his daughter Angie and her husband Steven Wiesner. Mike had 3 beautiful grandchildren whom he cherished and spoke of often Madison, Evan (E.J) and Chloe. He also spoke highly of his 6 nieces.
Mike is preceded by his Father Leo, Mother Lela and Brother George.
