Michael William Heaps 's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael William Heaps (beloved brother, husband, father and grandfather) on September 2nd, 2017. He was 57 years young surrounded by his loved ones at his home after a long battle with cancer. Michael will forever be remembered as a Light hearted, Funny and Loving man. He was quick to tease but just as quick to hug.
Michael was born February 21, 1960 in El Paso, Texas to William and Rosemary Heaps, the oldest of four children. He grew up in a loving, Catholic home. He was a 1978 graduate of Clover Park High School, and continued his education at Seattle University. Michael married the love of his life Diana (Johnson) Heaps and was a devoted husband and loving father in Bonney Lake, Washington. Michael was known for his love, wisdom and humor. His parents William and Rosemary Heaps, and brother Martin Dale Heaps preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Diana (Johnson) Heaps, his son Joshua Heaps, wife Courtney Heaps, granddaughter McKenzie, grandson William Michael, Daughter Melissa Montoya and grandchildren Alysia, Diego and Mia Montoya, sister Michele Mariscal, brother Matthew Heaps, wife Suzanne. Nephew: Matthew Heaps II, wife Angelina, Niece: Jennifer Rodgers, husband Christopher and several great nieces and nephews.
A Vigil and Rosary will be held Thursday, September 7th, at 8:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church 1401 Valley Avenue, Sumner, WA 98390
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 8th, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. also at St. Andrews Catholic Church; reception to follow immediately in the church hall.
All family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Michael’s life.
An evening reception to celebrate Michael’s life will be held at Burs Family Restaurant 6151 Steilacoom Blvd SW Lakewood WA, 98499 from 6pm to 9pm on Friday evening 8 September 2017.
