Michael David Doyle's Obituary
Michael was born March 21, 1957, in Seattle, WA to David and Joanne Doyle. He grew up and attended schools in the Puget Sound area. At age 17, Michael went to work as a sailor for Foss Maritime, working his way up to Chief-Engineer during his 14 years of service. Although he enjoyed working on many of the Foss tug boats, his favorites were the Shannon Foss and the tractor tug Arthur Foss. Michael spent 4 years as Chief-Engineer with Western Pioneer. The last 16 years were spent working for Stellar Seafoods as a Licensed Assistant, Chief-Engineer and Port Engineer. During this time of traveling, Michael developed and maintained lifelong friendships. In 1999, Michael started working under Bill Padie (W.H. Padie Associates, Inc.) during his time off to learn the Marine Surveying trade and, in 2001, he received his Marine Surveying Certificate. Bill acted as teacher, mentor, business associate and friend, helping Michael develop his own business, Trident Marine Associates LLC.Michael was an avid reader and had a great talent working with wood and stone. He was a perfectionist in his work and his craftsmanship is evident all around his home.Jeannette and Michael married on July 29, 1978, and were looking forward to celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary this summer. They endured the usual struggles of marriage but their true love for each other overcame the obstacles and they reaped the rewards of a strong, committed life together. After starting a family, Michael's priorities changed. Nothing was more important than spending time with his family and watching his children grow.Michael loved his family with all his heart and he had a special relationship with each of his children. He had a busy schedule but always looked forward to the daily quiet time spent with Jeannette, just holding hands or taking walks together. Little notes left in the morning were constant reminders of his thoughtfulness and love for Jeannette. 110% was put into everything Michael did including, forming the Trident Baseball team which he managed for the past 3 years. His motto was, "110% Effort on the Field and in Life." His goal was to provide his son Byron and others a positive and competitively healthy environment during their teenage years. He used baseball as the "vehicle" to teach them that hard work, self-discipline, self-motivation and respect for self and others would be the cornerstones to building strong character. Michael enjoyed watching his team excel as players and individuals, and developed a close relationship with many of the families in the baseball community.Michael passed away on April 2, 2008, and was preceded in death by infant son Brandon and sister Karen.Michael is survived by his loving wife Jeannette, his children, Byron, Amanda, and Michael, parents David and Joanne Doyle, sisters Colleen (Dennis) Brasseur, Janice Doyle, Jenny (Tim) Betts, and Mike LaCroix', along with numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Michael and his "brothers" enjoyed reminiscing about adventures they shared together during their younger (pre-children) years. Our thanks to Dr. Wadsworth, the oncology and radiation staff, and hospice for the excellent care provided to Michael and to "Discoveries", a support group for children and families.Heartfelt thanks to Bill Padie, Dana Kimmel and Mark Weed for their unrelenting support and steadfast friendship during Michael's illness.
