Michael, we met through the dating site, Black People Meet. You and I hit it off immediately. We agreed to meet, by me flying to you from Alaska. Then Covid19 arrived and all travel stopped. We tried to meet again, you got promoted and had to wait until you past probation to take leave. You called me to let me know that you weren't feeling well and drove yourself to the hospital. You told about your illness and that you would be out of work while you recovered. You asked that I send get well cards and I wasn't happy with your request since I sent stuff all the time. Remember the cards, the frame for your new office, the post cards. We had even planned a trip to Hawaii in January for MLK birthday for a week. You had told me to plan it and you would take care of everything. Then you said to change it to February since you wanted to celebrate your brother's birthday. We agreed to the new plan. We were excited. I sent you a get well package within 3 days of our conversation. I did not hear from you. I waited knowing of your treatment to get well. The package was returned to me today. I called your number and it's disconnected. I called the restaurant and it's closed. I couldn't have imagined what I now know for sure, you're no longer here with me. I wanted you to laugh at the stuff toy I sent you to lift your spirits. I had cards picked out for you too. I did not know what the future held for us, but I know this: I am going to miss you my friend. Have a wonderful journey home to our Father. Always Natalie
