Michael Cole Bruins' Obituary
Deacon Michael Cole Bruins (December 4, 1955 – July 11, 2015)
On Saturday July, 11, 2015 the Lord in his infinite wisdom took home his servant, Deacon Michael C. Bruins to eternal rest. He was born to Mr. Cole Bruins and Ms. Naomi Hamilton on December 4, 1955. Michael received his early education in Hawaii while graduating from high school in Pittsburg, California in 1974. He later received his Associates, Bachelors, & Master’s Degree from the University of Devonshire. He served many years in the United States Army and worked as a government contractor in his later years until he physically wasn’t able to work anymore.
Michael loved his family unconditionally. He cherished his wife Karen and two sons Michael Jr & Marcus. Michael loved the Lord and made it known on multiple occasions that his relationship with the Lord is what gave him an inner peace.
Michael Bruins was preceded in death by his mother Naomi Hamilton and his younger brother Nelson Hamilton who he loved very much.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: A devoted wife, companion & friend of 30 years Mrs. Karen Bruins; two loving sons Michael Bruins (Washington DC), Specialist Marcus Walter (Honolulu Hawaii), his father Cole (Opaline) Bruins (Los Angeles, California), his sisters Barbara (Larry) Cunningham (Vallejo, California), Loretta Hamilton (Richmond, California), Sheri Bruins (Los Angeles, California), brothers Randy (Patricia) Bruins (Los Angeles, California), Patrick (Diane) Bruins (Los Angeles, California), Sister-in-Laws Attorney Kim Askew (Dallas, Texas), Gloria (Richard) Richardson (Savannah, Georgia), Sylvia Walter (Atlanta, Georgia), & Charlotte Walter (Ridgeland, South Carolina)
In addition he leaves behind a very special niece Cassandra (Joe) Gillispie (Pittsburg, California), a very close uncle Julius (Brenda) Jones (Pittsburg California) and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, foster & God children.
