Michael A. Bates' Obituary
Michael Alan Bates, age 37, of Olympia, Washington, died on January 1, 2015. He was born November 8, 1977 to Alan Bates and Teresa (Reddick) Richey in Lakewood, WA. Michael was self-employed, he owned Timberland Sheds. He loved life and was a Christian who never wavered in his belief. He was very honest and humble, and would do anything for anyone who asked. Michael loved to travel and go camping and fishing. He won numerous medals and trophies for weight lifting. He had great work ethics and was an incredible leader to many. He always put 100% into everything he did. Most of all, he loved his children and would spend any free time he had with them, always putting them first. He provided them with an everlasting foundation of love and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Michael is survived by his mother Teresa Richey; step-father Duncan Richey; brother Christopher Bates; sister Elaine Reddick; daughters Hope Emil Bates, Faith Marie Bates, Grace Rose Bates; son Eliot Michael Bates; girlfriend of five years Laura Adams; Laura's children Bryan (Cody) Foster, Kayeigh Nicole, and Alexis Adams; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Michael will be held at 1:00 PM, June, 20, 2015 in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA 98499. A Graveside committal service and reception will follow.
