MEREDITH D. SCHENK
Meredith D. Schenk, 83, from Tumwater, WA was born on May 28, 1928 to Fred and Bretta Fisher in Tacoma, WA. Born as Mildred Delores Fisher, she resided in the Tacoma and Puyallup areas until her graduation from Puyallup High School in 1946. She married Fred A. Schenk in 1952 when she worked as a secretary for the Washington State Patrol where he was a trooper. He survives her in Tumwater where they lived on Dennis Street.
Meredith worked as a secretary for St. Regis in Tacoma, Totem Equipment in Seattle, Dr. Sheesh in Seattle, Heath Techna in Kent, Osberg Construction Company of Woodinville for projects in Utah and Idaho, and finally for Dr. Jonathan Wright in Kent. Throughout the years, she played the piano and organ for the Assembly of God churches in Tacoma, Lynden, and Des Moines, WA.
Meredith was preceded in death by her brother, Milt Fisher of Palm Desert, CA. Her younger brother, Bob Fisher, resides with his wife, Donna, in Spokane, WA. She has three sons; Steven Schenk, and his wife Darlene, who reside in Chattaroy, WA; Gary Schenk, and his wife Deana, who reside in Auburn, WA; and Brian Schenk, and his wife Diane, who reside in Tumwater, WA. Meredith has 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
The Schenk family resided at Tacoma, Snoqualmie Pass, Everson, Kent, Auburn, Cle Elum, Federal Way, and Tumwater Washington throughout the past 59 years. A private internment is planned at Mountain View Cemetery on January 11th at 9:30 am. A memorial service is planned at Mountain View Church of the Nazarene, 940 Israel Road SW in Tumwater on January 21st at 2 pm, where all are welcome.
