Melvin Jackson was born on April 24th, 1946 to Alvin Jackson Sr. and Bettie Mae Jackson and departed this life on December 22nd, 2020. He was known to many as Melwee, Doc & Popcorn.
Melvin graduated from Stadium High School. He worked in the Foundry Industry for many years as an Air Arc welder and was very proud of his skills & retired from this field when he became injured.
Melvin married Sharon Barker in 1981. He has left behind and was blessed to have all girls Bettie, Aletha, Marla, Corinne, Lawanna, Amy & Melva. Melvin has several Grand and Great Grand Children and he loved all of them dearly as well as playing with them, so we often had family Sunday dinners. He would visit his sisters and brothers often and was always taking his sisters fishing on his boat. He had a love for Fishing and Hunting and wanted to pass that tradition down to his children & grandchildren.
Melvin is preceded in death by his parents Alvin Sr. and Bettie Jackson as well as siblings Lillie Summers, Celia Isaac, Willie Mae Johnson and LeAnna Davis. He is survived by his Siblings, Christine Moody (Mangle), Teresa Linton (Emmett Sr.), Josephine Hughes, Alvin Jackson Jr. and Andrew Jackson.
