Melvin Gray's Obituary
Melvin Gray was born Oct. 19th, 1954 to the union of the late Taylor Gray Jr. and the late Mary Lee Adams in Alexandria, LA.
Melvin accepted the Lord and Savior at an early age.
Spending his younger years in Alexandria, Melvin moved to Seattle, Wa in 1974 to live with his late Uncle Billy Morris and Aunt Louise Morris. In his adult years Melvin became a member of Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Seattle.
Melvin accepted employment at Cabrini Medical Center and then went on to accept a position at Berry Global Plastics in 1978 working his way up to Journeyman Printer Pressman. Melvin served as the Forman until his retirement in 2014 after 36 years. Taking much pride in his job and accomplishments.
In 1982 Melvin met the love of his life Benita whom he married and started a family. Melvin and Benita raised three daughters, Latrice, Shana and JaTara. Melvin and Benita have 5 beautiful granddaughters, Naekayla, Ashani, Shilese, Amari and Amari and one handsome grandson Trey and a Great granddaughter London and a great grandson expected in August.
Melvin leaves to cherish his wife of 36 years Benita, 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, sisters, brothers, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Melvin will forever be cherished and greatly missed.
A viewing will take place on Saturday, June 2nd from 11-8pm at Mountain View Funeral Home. Services will be held on Sunday, June 3rd at 3pm in the Aspen Chapel of the Celebration of Life Center at Mountain View Memorial Park, with reception to follow in the Willow Room.
