Melvin Allison's Obituary
Melvin Leroy Allison, Sr.
Nov. 21, 1922 ~ Dec. 3, 2009
Melvin Leroy Allison was born in Chehalis, Washington to Henry and Abigail Allison. He was the fifth child of six. Our beloved husband and father passed away on December 3rd and although our hearts are saddened by our loss, we find comfort in knowing he is at peace now. Melvin was raised on a farm in Chehalis and later moved to Tacoma, Washington, where he met the love of his life, Lola Mae Rhodes. They then married and together they lived and raised six children in the Tacoma area for the remainder of their lives. He was in the Army and served in World War II, and was always proud to have been a Veteran. He worked for the Tacoma School District for 25 years where he then retired. He was a lifelong member of the Elks #174 and VFW. His parents, all of his siblings, his son Melvin, Jr., daughter Darlene and grandson Jerry Keister, Jr., all preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Lola, of 67 years, son Fred Allison (Elaine), daughters Sandy Teutscher (John), Judy Anderson (Joe) and Beverly Moeson (Ron). He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren We would like to thank Jean and the staff at Hearthside as well as Lisa and her staff from Hospice for the love and care in his final months.
