Mckinsey S. Bennett's Obituary
McKinsey entered into eternal peace on June 9, 2022 with her loving mother by her side after a long battle with diabetes and other associated illnesses.
Born April 30, 1991, in Riverside, California she was the youngest of two daughters born to Adrienne Van Buren and Rawlvan Bennett.
From the moment she was born, her inner joy shined effervescently and everyone loved her instantaneously. She was a precocious little girl and always wise beyond her years. She spent her early years in Denver, Colorado moving to Atlanta, Georgia as she began kindergarten where she excelled in sports and developed her love for dancing and SHOES. There was never a heel that she couldn't walk in or a sneaker that she couldn't rock in her own fashionable way.
At the age of 8, she relocated to Federal Way, Washington where she discovered a real love for music and began playing the flute and cello in grade school. McKinsey was a graduate of Decatur High School where she played competitive sports and continued her love for rhythmic dance through the art form 'Stepping' with her beloved Step Team.
Although she was not given length of years, she lived a beautiful full life. She spread love and joy, and left an indelible impression on everyone that she met with her loving attitude and likeable personality. Even when she was at her most visibly ill, she never stopped "beating" her lovely face with the latest trends in makeup and working as an undercover colorist on her own locks, having fun exploring all shades of the rainbow.
McKinsey is preceded in death by her sister, Raven Bennett; her Maternal Grandfather "Papa" Roscoe Van Buren; her Paternal Grandparents, Alice Bennett and Rawlvan R. Bennett; and her doting God-Father Grady Maxwell, Sr.
McKinsey leaves to cherish her memory, her parents, Adrienne Van Buren and Rawlvan Bennett; her sister, Colby Bennett, Seattle, WA; three brothers, Kareem Bennett (Shanelle), Marcus Bennett (Leslie), Orlando, FL; Saxon Bennett, Orlando, FL. Two nephews, Jeremiah Clayton and Josiah Bennett; a niece, Alahna Bennett; Her Maternal Grandmother, Shirley Van Buren, Tacoma, WA; Two Aunts Iris Van Buren-Baugh (Ron), Vancouver, WA; and Caryn Van Buren, Tacoma, WA; One Uncle, Renwick Bennett, (Rebecca), Phoenix, AZ.
