Maxine M. Bowlin's Obituary
Maxine Mae (Krohn) Bowlin passed peacefully in her home in Des Moines, Washington on November 12, 2012 at the age of 87.
Born November 3, 1925, Maxine was raised in Norfolk, Nebraska and graduated from Norfolk High School in 1943. Her adventurous spirit took her to Tacoma, Washington, where she became a pilot, assisting with the war effort by taxiing military aircraft at McChord AFB.
In 1953 she married, then became a dedicated wife, mother, Boeing draftsman, local champion bowler, civic volunteer, grandmother, and world traveler. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Bill Bowlin, her parents Rudolph Krohn and Helen (McClary) Krohn, and her siblings Darlene Carter, Vern, and Jack Krohn. She is survived by her children David Bowlin, Roger Bowlin, Janet Bowlin-Yokan and Jo Bowlin-Johnson. She was blessed also with nine grandchildren.
Maxine's family wishes to thank the very special friends and family who have so enriched her life throughout her many years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 22, 2012, 1:00 pm, in the Mountain View Garden Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, Washington. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be sent to Focus on the Family in honor of Maxine's memory.
