Maxine Frances Berray's Obituary
Maxine was born April 2, 1914 in Tacoma to Francis Lasley. She was raised in McKenna by her mother and adopted father, Hervey O. Martin. She passed away September 25, 2010. Maxine was united in marriage to Louis A. "Louie" Berray on April 29 1933. Together they raised a family of four children in Spanaway where they built their home and service station, L&M Texaco, which they operated for many years. Maxine is survived by daughters Lois McPherson, Janet Averill, Arlene Fongemie and son, Neil Berray; 10 grandchildren and dozens of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sisters Patty Gallagher (New City, New York), Dot Rambo (Olympia) and brother, Dick Martin (Spanaway). A family graveside service will be held at 2:30 on Friday, October 1, 2010 at Mountain View Cemetery, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd., Lakewood. A public memorial service will held at 2:00, Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Rainier View Christian Church, 12305 Spanaway Loop Rd. A reception follows.
