Maurice Edward Perry
Maurice was born in Tacoma WA on Aug. 14, 1931
and passed away on Aug. 29, 2021 in Cheney WA
where he has lived for the last 3 years.
Maurice left Lincoln High School in his Junior year to join the Navy
Reserves and then went active duty for three years as a boiler tender on
the U.S.S. Lyman K. Swenson DD729.
Maurice also spent 60 years in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where
he met his wife, G.G. They were very active in the Eagles, participating
in numerous clubs and on the drill teams.
Maurice worked as a millwright (paper machine mechanic)
for the paper mill at Chambers Creek for over 30 years. It went
through many company changes over the years, the longest being
Boise Cascade.
Maurice and G.G. traveled extensively throughout the United States
and Canada going through many trailers and RVs.
He is survived by his five children, Janet Hansen, Nancy Pate, Tina Shearer
Susan (Brent) Hirning and Mark (Molly) Perry. He leaves behind
13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a brother, David.
He was preceded by his wife of 58 years, Georgianna (G.G.) Perry,
and one great granddaughter.
Services are to be held at Mtn. View Funeral Home on Oct. 2 at 1pm with
graveside services and reception to follow.
