Mary W. Hartwick's Obituary
Mary was born in Dubuque, Iowa on October 27, 1920, and died in Tacoma, Washington on June 6, 2003. She was preceded by her husband Phil, in 1982. Survivors include: son, Philip Hartwick, Jr.; daughter, Ginny Eberhardt; granddaughters, Theresa and Jennifer Eberhardt; great-grandson Nicholas Eberhardt; brothers, Richard H. Waring, Thomas W. Waring (Mary), and Robert E. Waring (Shirley); sisters, Ruth Hutchison (Arnold C.), and Virginia L. Kuzniczci; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was an active and original member of the Hi Hoe Garden Club and a member of the Lakewood Emblem Club #441. She worked for several years at Rhodes Brothers Department Store and retired from the Weyerhaeuser Company where she had a career in statistical accounting. Mary will be remembered for her active, vibrant and caring ways and her deep and abiding love for Tacoma and her country. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 11, 2003, from 11:00am to 9:00pm at the Mountain View Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 12, 2003, in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Building, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW at 3:00pm. Memorials may be made to St. Charles Borromeo in the name of Mary Hartwick.
