Mary Virginia Klein's Obituary
Mary Virginia Klein
Virginia Klein went quietly in her sleep on October 26th. It was a peaceful end to a long life. Born August 19th, 1921 in Mitchell, South Dakota, Virginia moved at a young age to the south end of Tacoma. She graduated from Lincoln High and attended the U of W. Virginia married Carl Klein on January 2, 1942. In 1947, they purchased a home with six acres on south Ainsworth Avenue. They spent the rest of their lives there. No one kept a household running more smoothly or took greater interest in her children. She taught them manners, the importance of hard work, and the satisfaction of a job well done. Virginia's handwriting was pure artistry, as were her cinnamon rolls. She loved camping, church, the Mariners, and a corny joke. Virginia was disabled by a stroke in 1990, but remained sharp as a tack until the end. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Carl, and her daughter, Debra. Sons Roger and Ron (Margo) reside in Tacoma. A service for Virginia will be held Saturday, November 7th at 4:00 PM at the South Lakeshore Christian Church, 1740 So. 84th St., Tacoma. A reception will be held at the church. The family requests any memorial donations be made to the South Puget Sound Boys & Girls Clubs, 1501 Pacific Ave., Tacoma WA 98402.
