Mary Sue Dumas' Obituary
Born on June 11, 1923 in Beckville, Texas, passed away peacefully May 7, 2010, in Tacoma, Washington. Sue graduated from Beckville High School. When she was in her early 20s, she traveled to Tacoma to work in the shipyards during World War II. It was during this time that she met her husband, Donald Dumas, and in 1946 they were married. Sue was retired from Pacific Lutheran University, where she worked as a housekeeper for many years. Sue enjoyed gardening, fishing, and knitting. She also loved to travel, and managed to visit all 50 states after her retirement. Sue was a member of the Tacoma Eagles Club. She leaves to cherish her memory her two children, Michael Dumas and Gail Matz, her grandchildren Bryan, Eric, Jennifer, Aaron, and Julia, her great-grandchildren Julie, Christian, and Samantha, her sisters and brothers, and various nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband Donald L. Dumas and son David E. Dumas.
Services will be held in the Mountain View Garden Chapel at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 12th, 2010.
