Mary Jane Schumacher's Obituary
Mary Jane (Bassett) Schumacher passed away peacefully at the age of 100. She was born and resided in Tacoma, WA. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend whose warmth and kindness touched many.
Mary worked for over 30 years at several restaurant supply companies until she retired at the age of 65, then decided to go back to work as a teller for Washington Mutual bank. She retired a second time at age 71. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and was very active in her retired years. She was a big fan of Husky Football, the Mariners & Seahawks.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents (Harvey & Helen), brother Leo and sister Beatrice (Houle). She is survived by her brother Phillip, daughter Pamela Nelson (Kelly), son E. Allyn (Kellie), 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, grandnieces, nephews and grandnephews.
Mary’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will rest eternally beside her beloved parents at Calvary Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on June 26, 2025 at 1:00pm, Mountain View Funeral Home, Willow Room in the Celebration of Life Center.
