Mary Ann Massey's Obituary
Mary Ann Massey, age 86, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, after living a full and meaningful life surrounded by family and friends.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: David Massey and his wife Michelle, Carolyn Smart and her husband Rick, and Richard "Dean" Massey. Mary Ann also leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength that will continue to live on in those who knew her.
Mary Ann was born in Ramona, South Dakota in 1938 to Olaf and Minnie Framness. She graduated from Tenino High School in 1956. A devoted homemaker, Mary Ann created a warm and welcoming home where family and faith were always at the center.
Throughout her life, Mary Ann enjoyed gardening, camping, square dancing, sewing, and crocheting. she and her beloved husband shared a passion for travel, especially cruises, and spent many joyful years as a snowbirds, splitting their time between Washington and Arizona.
Mary Ann and her husband were founding members of Parkway Presbyterian Church, where they served faithfully and built many lasting friendships. Her gentle spirit, warm heart, and dedication to her faith and community touched countless lives and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mary Ann will be laid to rest at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Gig Harbor in a private family ceremony.
A memorial service to celebrate her life, open to all who knew and loved Mary Ann, is being planned. Details will be announced when available.
