Just as Gertraud wrote, I had the great pleasure to be Mary's student at KLS from '69 to '71. Not only was she a gifted teacher (seeing this now, with hindsight) but also one of the most accessible teachers I have ever had. And thank you Mary, for teaching me to play the guitar. This has survived all these years, along with a signed version of the New Testament I received as a gift from her.
The world has lost a good person - but I will always remember her for all the things she has taught to me.

What a beautiful foto of Mary! That´s how we will remember her.
I´m Gertraud Mayfield (nee Schuster). I was Mary´s student for 3 years at KLS. She was a great teacher! We all loved her!
Later when I was married to Scott Mayfield we visited her several times in her Tacoma home. She was a great host and good friend!
There´s a wonderful verse written by Hieronymus (331-420): Let´s not mourn that we lost her, but let us be thankful that we had her, well even, that we still have her, because whoever goes HOME to THE LORD stays in the community of GOD´s family and only left before us."
