Mary J. AshlockMary J. Ashlock passed away December 30, 2002. Born March 22, 1918 in Bowdle, South Dakota, She grew up in Springfield and attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.Mary came to Tacoma during WWII to visit her sister and decided to stay. She worked at Camp Murray, The Old Tacoma Fire Station, and the last 20 years before retiring at The Department of Social and Health Services.She is survived by her children James (Deirdra) Ashlock, Kathleen Ryan, Mary E. Ashlock, Monica (Craig) Roberts, grandchildren Stephanie Raezer and David Roberts, great grandson Ryan.A reception to celebrate her life will be held at the home of Monica and Craig Roberts, 818 Lewis Ave., Sumner on January 11, 2003 at 1 P.M.
