Mary E. GregorichÂ"GRANNYÂ"Mary Ellen Gregorich, 82, died July 30, 2003. She lived most of her adult life in the Tacoma area after her birth in Altoona, PA., on Sept. 15, 1920.She was preceded in death by her sweetheart and husband of 48 years, Walter D.; mother, Christine Conrad; and grandson, Tommy GregorichShe is survived by her children, Barbara OÂ'Connell, W. Stephen Gregorich (Diane) and Christine Gregorich (Rebel Nichols); grandchildren, Nancy Rusconi (Michael), Kelli Hughes (Dick), Adam Gregorich (Annette), Joseph and Seth Thomas Gregorich, and Justice Nichols; and great granddaughters, Jessica Rusconi and Megan Hughes.She wanted to remember special people: Dick Raymond (nephew & Â adopted sonÂ"), Nick and Gloria Tucci, Laura Pryor, Margaret Mutschler, Roy and Evelyn Brady, Linda Dahl, Margie Johnson, Margot Barela and Julie Golob. She had fond memories in her last days for Franciscan Hospice and Gentiva care givers.Remembered for years of volunteer service at Wainwright Elementary and the Cancer SocietyÂ's Discovery Shop. A shipyard welder during WWII, Mary returned to her secretarial career as an executive secretary at several local corporations. Honorary member of Pi Kappa Delta and member of Eastern Star. Devoted a quarter century to Rainbow Girls (Rainbow Grandmother--Tacoma Assembly). A generous & loving woman whose home was always open to family & friends. Even to the end, she was more concerned about othersÂ' well being than her own. Our dear Â"BoomaÂ" loved to read, garden, cook, do crosswords, watch sports and most of all, help others.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Peters Episcopal Church, Franciscan Hospice, or your favorite charity. Visitation will be from 11 A.M until 9 P.M. Thurs., Aug. 7th and from 8:30 A.M. until 9 P.M. Fri., Aug. 8th at Mt. View Funeral Home. Services/life celebration will be Sat. Aug. 9, 2003 at 2 P.M. at the Mt. View Valley Chapel.
