Mary C. Moisio's Obituary
Mary Catherine Moisio (Wilson), our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many, has been called home by God; her spirit was carried gently to Heaven in the arms of angels on Friday, July 7, 2006.Mary was born in Tacoma, WA, and lived here all her life. The daughter of Alma and Andrew Wilson (deceased), Mary was one of five sisters: Patricia, Rosemary (deceased), Kathleen, and Andrea. She grew up in Tacoma,'s north end and fondly referred to that area as her ,"stomping grounds," when sharing warm memories of her early years: climbing trees in the woody areas; soaking her feet in the saltwater beach along Ruston Way with her dad; and taking the bus downtown with her mom and little sister Andi for soup and sandwiches at the Rhodes lunch counter, followed by a Roxy double feature.Mary attended Holy Cross and St. Patrick Schools in her primary years and went on to Aquinas Academy, graduating in 1953. Mary maintained many special friendships from her school years and treasured a 50th class reunion cruise with her classmates in 2003.Mary attended the College of Puget Sound where she studied psychology and music. Throughout college and for some time after, Mary worked as a switchboard operator along with her mother Alma at the Tacoma Police Department. She married at age 21 and had five children to whom she was devoted: Rosemary (Douglas), Elizabeth (Lee), Reino (Joyce), Andrew (Debbie), and Kathleen (Brian). Mary recently stated that what she was most proud of about her life is her five children and that her greatest wish is for their happiness.Mary,'s family grew over the years to include eight grandchildren: Timothy, Talia, and Emily (Rosemary); Brandi (Elizabeth); and Rolanda, Victoria, Amber, and Marcus (Andrew). She also had one special ,"grand-dog," for whom she provided daily ,"Grammy Day Care,", BooBear (Kathleen). In recent years, 4th generation additions to Mary,'s family included the births of five great-grandchildren: Audrey (deceased), Jaron, Caemon, Owen, and Te,'Yana.Mary was known for her sheer goodness, through and through. She had a kind and gentle spirit and balanced an amazing strength of character with a warm and accepting softness that was a comfort to those who were close to her. Mary maintained a strong sense of faith and unyielding optimism, no matter the adversity before her. She provided a patient, ever-willing, and compassionate ear to those around her; and she displayed selfless generosity in her tireless efforts to help others.Mary was also known as a popular and energetic business woman of great integrity, owning and operating her own entertainment booking agency (Mary Kaye Productions) since 1968. She took great pride in helping the artists she served to attain a stable livelihood doing what they loved most in life: making music. In recent years, Mary added Real Estate Agent to her professional resume and, again, enjoyed serving her clients very much.Truly, Mary was a bright and shining light to those around her. She was cherished and will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. Please join Mary,'s family and friends for Mary,'s memorial service at 2pm on Saturday, July 15, 2006, in the Mountain View Valley Chapel.
