Mary A. Burghardt's Obituary
Mary A. Burghardt passed away April 10, 2019 at the age of 90. “Grandma Mary” was passionate about her family and loved by many. Mary was born In Atlanta, GA, but spent most of her childhood in Baytown, TX. She married Paul E. Burghardt in 1951. As an Air Force wife she moved every 4 years until settling in Puyallup. Mary was a talented seamstress and did beautiful needlework. She served others selflessly, and was proud to be a Red Cross volunteer, most notably working on an Air Evac crew in Alaska. She loved to eat, and never let anyone leave her house hungry. She was active in TOPS, and maintained her KOPS designation for many years. Mary is survived by her 3 children, Paula McCarthy, Jamie Harnden, and Keith Burghardt, 4 grandchildren, Kymberly Ruff, Krystina Stuefen, Scott Harnden, and Kevin Harnden, and 4 great grandchildren. Her husband, Paul, and son Kevin preceded her in death.
A celebration of life will be held on May 18, 2019 at 1pm in the Aspen Chapel.
