Mary E. Brown's Obituary
Mary Elsie Brown was born on April 2, 1931 and departed from her immediate family on Wednesday, June 28, 2017.
Mary was born to Leo (Sally) Reynolds and Neal Dixon in Blossom, Texas. Mary has numerous friends and relatives in cities of Midland, Blossom, Wichita Falls, Fort Worth, and Dallas.
She was married to Retired Staff Sgt. George L. Brown before his death. During this marriage they had four children, Shelia Kelly (Spanaway), Ronald, Kevin and Steve Brown currently living in Tacoma, WA.
Mary is the grandmother and great-grandmother to; Ronald- (David, Brian, Steven, and Kisha); Shelia- (Qiana, Shonna, CaTina and great-grandson-Shaw G. Wiley, Jr)
Those proceeding her in death, her loving husband George L. Brown, mother Leo Reynolds, Aunt Venola Dixon, oldest sister-Bobbie Walker, grandmother Mamie Johnson, and great-grandmother Eliza Thomas.
Families, friends, church families will cherish her memory and life. Mary had a calming, peaceful and loving existence upon this earth. She lived to the fullest and tried to encourage everyone she met to appreciate life.
Mary truly embraced her siblings, her oldest sister-Bobbie and her youngest sister-Joyce Brooks residing in Denver, CO. The sisters were inseparable.
Mary is a current member of Miles Memorial CME church and the usher board. She has numerous fellow ushers and church friends, please share her memories.
Mary enjoyed bowling with her league of friends.
Our mother will truly be missed by her immediate family members, especially her voice, her touch, her presence will never leave our hearts and mind.
Mary truly believed in loving and helping family. She lived her life each day exhibiting those feelings. We LOVE her…please rest Mom!
A Visitation for Mary will be held 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in the Celebration of Life Center, Aspen Chapel. Interment to immediately follow and a Reception in the Willow Room at Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Lakewood, WA.
