Mary A. Hushek's Obituary
With the passing away of Mary Hushek, an era ended also. MaryÂ's parents, Charles and Maude Taylor settled in Midland on what later became known as 99th St. East in the early 1900Â's. Mary, along with her brothers occupied side by side residencies their entire lives, on what became known as Â"TaylorÂ" block. With MaryÂ's death the era of over 100 years of a Taylor residency on that block came to an end.Mary is survived by her daughter Mary (Richard) Hieb and her son Charles (Glenda) Hushek. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Francis, in 2004. Her skills at gardening, baking and canning were enjoyed and passed on to many. MaryÂ's yard in Midland was a highlight to all of those who drove by. She was a much loved person and demonstrated tremendous strength and dignity her entire life. The family is certain that she now is a personal gardener for the Â"OneÂ" that they assumed to be the gardener in the gospel of John 20:15.A private family memorial service is planned at a later date.
