Marvin Langley
Marvin Langley passed away at age 81, Sunday, October 9, 2011 in his daughter's home after 2 years of health challenges. He was born near Denver, Colorado in 1929 to Louda Zismann and Ira Langley, the 2nd of 5 boys. He enlisted in the military in 1946. A decorated veteran of the Korean War, Marvin served in the US Air Force for 20 years before retiring to Spanaway. A second retirement from Qwest after another 25 years working gave him the time to travel, golf, fish and spend time with his wife, Carol of 52 years, and their family. He and Carol moved to Hoodsport in 1997 in order to pursue their outdoor lifestyle more extensively and traveled to the southern half of the US for several years every winter visiting old friends and making new ones before her passing in 2006. He is survived by his 5 children, David Langley of Westin, Oregon, Debra Langley-Boyer of Tahuya, Washington, Jayne Peterson of Port Orchard, Washington, Christina Hill of Hoodsport, Washington, and Fred Harger of Hadlyme, Connecticut. He is also survived by 4 grandsons and 4 granddaughters as well as brothers Melvin Langley of Auburn, Washington and Mark Langley of Kapolei, Hawaii. A funeral service will be held October 22, 2011 at 1pm, Mountain View Cemetery in Lakewood. The service will be followed by a graveside service with military honors and then a reception to follow.
