Marvin Colbo's Obituary
Marvin Elias Colbo, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away June 13, 2012 in Tacoma, Washington. He was born January 23rd, 1939 in Tacoma, the youngest son of Carsten & Rachel Colbo. He married Denette Mulholland (December 29th, 1973) and raised four children: Sam (wife Sokha), Caroline (husband Jason Wachter, grandchildren: Elias & Sydney), Brett & Blake. Also, survived by Wes Colbo (Delores) and many nieces & nephews. Marv reveled in being a fatherly figure to all, and his advice led to many others' successes. He attended Bellarmine Prep followed by Central Washington University. He was so proud of his accomplishments during the 35 years that he represented The Associates Financial Services, ending his career as a group Vice President. Marv loved his family, golfing, fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking, wine, and lunching with "the guys." His loud humor and opinions were never censored, and he was a man that you always wanted by your side. Marv fought many battles and always remained positive about beating the odds, even when the odds weren't in his favor. His lifelong best friends (Ron, Dave, Tom, Jeff... and many more) became his brothers as they grew in each other's' lives. "Marvelous" was one of kind; he gave us so many unforgettable memories and traditions that will be fondly remembered and passed on for generations. Marv was preceded in death by his parents and youngest son (Blake). The family would like to thank Dr. Frank Senecal and staff for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Church on Friday, June 22 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow at Fircrest Golf and Country Club. Until we meet again, we will always think of Marv with love and laughter.
