Marvel L. Cooley's Obituary
Marvel Larraine (Ziemke) Cooley passed away peacefully on October 26, 2009 at the age of 89. She was born in Garden City, MN to Henry and Emma Ziemke on June 29, 1920 and was the 3rd of 6 children.
Mom enjoyed cooking and baking especially around the holidays for her family and friends. She always had a vegetable garden and liked working in her flower beds in the yard. She enjoyed being active in her church.
Marvel was preceded earlier this year in death by her husband of 66 years, Barto, and is survived by sisters Dolores (Kerm) Wiederhoeft and Dorothy (Orin) Wiederhoeft in Minnesota; children Leroy, Elverne, and Sharon (Ray) Davenport; 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at King's Manor and Regency of Puyallup for their kindness, care, and support of Mom.
Viewing will be from 2:00 to 9:00 PM, November 3, 2009 at Mountain View Funeral Home with a graveside service at 11:30 AM, November 4, 2009 at Mountain View Memorial Park. There will be a memorial service at 1:00 PM, November 4 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church located at 140 E. 56th St. in Tacoma with reception following.
Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where Barto and Marvel had been members since 1949.
