Martin C Mickelsen's Obituary
Martin Charles Mickelsen of Spanaway, Washington, passed away on November 14, 2013 of natural causes. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Lou Hill Mickelsen, and two daughters, Tara Lyn Mickelsen (spouse: Bradley Bowler) and Kaela Lyn Mickelsen; two granddaughters, Gabrielle and Daphne. He is also survived by both parents, Phoebe (Mark) Turley and Bud (Dorothy) Mickelsen along with two brothers: Gary Lynn (Sue) Hollenbeck and Jeremy Earl Hollenbeck and two sisters: Keile Rae (Jim) Cross and Carol Gene (Jeff) Bingaman.
He spent most of his life in the northwest and was an avid outdoorsman. One of his favorite and lifetime passions was fishing. He was known for his fishing skill and could catch fish where no one else could. He was a good cook and became extremely proficient at smoking fish and meat. His friends and family loved to come to his home for his special barbecues. He was very generous.
In the area of talents, Martin loved music of all kinds. He had a beautiful voice and also wrote music. Another gift was his love of animals. His dog, Sammy, will miss him very much.
Martin worked for United Airlines for 25 years and considered his co-workers to be a second family.
