Martha Eugenia Anderson's Obituary
Martha Eugenia Anderson (Marty) was born June 16, 1925 in Harrison, AR, the only child of Myrtle and Lawson Murray. She graduated from Harrison High School and attended the University of Arkansas. In 1943 she married Lieutenant Charles W. Anderson, Jr. of San Francisco, CA. Lt. Anderson was a career Army officer, so they made their home in many different stations in the United States and overseas. After 28 years of service, Martha and Charles retired in Lakewood. Martha loved the Northwest and felt like a native. It was the prettiest place she had ever seen. Martha loved playing bridge with her friends, reading, and traveling the world. She was a political junkie and had an opinion on everything (generally correct). She was a charter member of St John Bosco Roman Catholic Church in Lakewood. She enjoyed a membership of over 30 years in the Tacoma Golf and Country Club. Martha and Charles had four children, Charles Wesley Anderson III and daughter-in-law Barbara of Montgomery, AL, Dr. Martha Sanderlin of DuPont, WA, Dorothy Alto and son-in-law John of Sherwood, OR, and John Murray Anderson and daughter-in-law Crystal of Lakewood, WA. Martha is survived by her husband Charles, four children, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Martha died peacefully at home on August 31. She will be interred at Tahoma National Cemetery.
