Martha A. Carey's Obituary
Martha Ann Carey (Banks) was born on May 28, 1946 in Eldorado, Arkansas. Raised by her maternal grandparents, she passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 in Puyallup, Washington at Life Care Center of South Hill.
After graduating from high school, she was married to Johnny Lee Carey, who enlisted on the US Army, and shortly thereafter they left Arkansas to travel the world.
Martha’s greatest accomplishment was becoming a mother and raising three children, Andrea the eldest, followed by Shaun and Darrell. She worked as a clerk and then a manager in the Army Exchange System, but her passion was raising her children, which were her ultimate blessing. Her life was further defined by the opportunity to play a role in caring for her eight grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children and their families: Andrea and Kevin, and their two children Taylor and Gabriel. Shaun and Tonya, and their three children, Kameron, Quentin, and Braelyn. And Darrell and Sandra, and his three children, Tristin, Brittany and Brianne.
There will be a private internment followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM on October 28, 2022 at Mountain View Funeral Home
