Marta Welo
“Oma”
Marta went to be with the Lord on October 4th, 2014 at the age of 100. She passed away peacefully, with her daughter Anna Nunnally and her granddaughter Emma Nunnally by her side, in the home she had lived in for 55 years.
Marta was born in Neckarwesteim, Germany. She was the youngest of five children, who have all preceded her in death.
Marta married the love of her life, Harry Welo, in Germany. It was there that they met in her sister’s café where she worked. Harry has also preceded her in death.
Marta’s greatest joy was making her friends and family happy, and she showed that through cooking wonderful meals. Harry and Marta owned a local restaurant in the sixties, where she was known for her German potato salad. Marta also had excellent gardening skills, and the most beautiful garden in Tillicum.
Marta is now at peace working in God’s Garden. A heartfelt thank-you to all that made Marta’s life memorable - especially Erika, Mariam, Marina, Margareta and Rosie for your compassionate care.
A celebration of Marta’s life will be held 1:00 Saturday, October 18 in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View. Marta will be laid to rest in Mountain View Memorial Park.
